Book Review
The Oath of the Vayuputras
The last part of the Shiva Trilogy and I was waiting for it eagerly, mostly because of the awesome title it had "The Oath of the Vayuputras".
The story continues with the journey of Shiva and his search for Evil, the question is who are the evils which this book reveals and make the reader realize the facts they should realize through there heart(about right and wrong).
Shiva, his family and folks come together for the decisive war. Since it is the last part many more characters adds into the equation and I personally feel Amish didn't do justice to many of the characters. The most dominating character in this part were Sati and Karthik, while reading the book there were the moments when I almost forgot that it is a Shiva Trilogy. I think there should have been bit more for Shiva and in the same way Karthik was too overrated and Ganesha and Kali were too underrated character. One more character which was so beautifully crafted at the first part was Veerabhadra but didn't utilized such a strong character in both the last two books. The climax was also very disappointing with the feel of a bit of negativity and sadness to it.
The positives of the book was the way the writer had narrated the story, evolving some good new characters. The way Shiva is linked to all the concepts and the best things were the fight sequences, the best were Karthik's fight where he was shown a ruthless warrior and the fight of Sati and Nandi in Meluha. Overall a good book to read and enjoy but i would say not a worth ending for Shiva Trilogy.
